Introducing the Digital Archive ‘Rwandapedia’

Rwanda has launched its own digital archive of cultural and historical information called Rwandapedia to tell the the story of the country from its own perspective.

Backed by the Rwandan government and the African Development Bank, the archive includes galleries, videos and primary-source material. It is designed to be used by students, journalists and anyone who might be curious about the country, said Rwanda Minister for Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo speaking at the Rwandapedia launch in Kigali, which Wired.co.uk attended.

“They can skim the surface with concise summaries and informative videos, or they can delve into the deep trove of primary source material connecting things, connecting people, connecting stories, connecting Rwanda at any particular time of history,” she said.
