Nyagatare District gets bridge at Kazaza

Residents in Nyagatare district have been urged to protect and make use of the just constructed Kazaza Bridge connecting Musheli, Rwimiyaga, Matimba and Rwempasha sectors.

This comes after the district allocated Rwf60 million on the budget for the reconstruction of the bridge that stood impassable for some time hindering daily activities of residents.

“It took Rwf60 million of the district budget to reconstruct the bridge. Protect it from any damage,” said James Gakuru; executive secretary for Rwempasha sector

In 2013, there were cases where some residents fell into water trying to cross over to the neighbouring areas.

“Trade between Matimba, Rwimiyaga and Rwempasha became easy after the bridge was repaired,” disclosed Janvier Kubwimana, a resident in Musheli sector.

Apart from residents, the bridge is used by Ugandans who cross over on the market day especially in Rwemiyaga sector.
