Ngororero: Girls to prevent HIV/AIDS infections among Youth

G irls are encouraged to protect themselves against the HIV/AIDS and to make sure they don’t play a part in the abuse done against themselves and their fellows but to denounce any kind of abuse. This is part of the sensitization to girls in the realization of the month set for the month of development of girls and women programs.

The sensitization program is running under the theme “fighting for my dignity and an anti-abuse life.” This program started on this Wednesday the 27th.March.2013 in Matyazo sector in a Girl’s School of Muramba CIC (CIC: Complementarity, Intelligence & Courage).

With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Technology as well as the Ministry for Gender and Family Promotion, this program was successful and characterized by presentations and HIV/AIDS testing services and this program will continue in other sectors.

Alice Bumanzi who is in charge of sensitization programs in the Ministry of Youth and Technology asked more than 700 girls in the Girl’s School of Muramba CIC to become exemplary in their behaviours in the school as well as outside the school.

Students were explained the causes of AIDS and how they can participate in being abused and how to prevent that.

The vice mayor for social affairs in Ngororero district Clothilde Nyiraneza asked these girls to live their lives with goals for a better future and healthy lives.
