In partnership with Biogas-Rec Company and the Country of Holland, a Biogas Power Generation project from Nyanza-kicukiro garbage dumping pit that is estimated to cost 1.500.000 million francs is being organized.
Rucamukibatsi Jeremie, Leader of Biogas-Rec Company says the project was started in May 2010 but was delayed by Holland Officials who were supposed to ensure its implementation.
On 30th November 2011, delegates from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Holland came to see why the project was not put to use.

The leadership of Biogas-Rec Company explained where the problem is and Frank Laat, Delegation leader said they are going back home to gather more effort so that Biogas be produced.
Nyanza-Kicukiro garbage dumping pit being the only place where Kigali city dumps its garbage, it brings about health risks to the neighbouring residents especially when it rains and garbage comes down to peoples’ homes.
However, Rucamukibatsi Jeremie promises that once the project is in operation, what have been problems will be answers.
